Excel - Toolbar buttons to hide/unhide sheets

I originally posted this question under "worksheet functions" but I think
that was the wrong place to post.
I know I can create toolbar " buttons" to hide & unhide sheets by selecting
hide, & dragging the word "hide" over to the toolbar. However, when I did
this I did not drop the word "hide" on the toolbar, I missed the toolbar &
dropped it off to the side of it, seemingly into outer space because it is
nowhere to be found. I have tried moving the toolbars, displaying them on two
rows, and one, and I cannot find where I dropped it. Now I have no toolbar
button, plus, I cannot go back to format, sheet, & click on "hide" because
word "hide" is no longer there. Help!

Why not customize and reset the toolbars & start over?

Thanks, but that is what started this whole problem; I have always customized my
toolbars & one morning my customization had disappeared and I only had the
default toolbars (that was probably something to do with our Citrix servers
at work). It was when I was redoing them that this happened. I have tried
resettting the toolbars again & rebooting and it does not help. --

The same thing happened to me, I can't see the hid/unhide from the format menu neither I can find the ico after mistakely dropping it in the outer space. !

Excel Win7 VirtualStore Weirdness with Excel 2002 and earlier I thought I'd share a weird experience I had today in installer for it - - which registers it as an add-in for all installed versions of Excel - - and tested it. Fine in Windows 2000 in all installed versions of Excel. Boot to Windows XP, fine there too. Boot to Windows 7. Fine in Excel 2010, 2007, and 2003. But Excel 2002 and 2000 were still loading the old version of the add-in. I uninstalled the add-in, made sure it was gone, and reinstalled it. Same problem in Excel 2002 and earlier; still works fine in Excel 2003 and later. I opened the VB editor in Excel 2003 and in Excel 2002

Excel IRM Permission Disappeared in .xls file Hello, I have a very important .xls file (created in Excel 2003) that I had protected using my MS Passport account with IRM.
